Speaking Valves

Tri-Med Medical Supplies sells speaking valves, a removable one-way valve that can be placed on a deflated or cuffless tracheostomy tube. It allows for inhalation through the valve and closes on exhalation to allow for airflow through the larynx, mouth, and nose. Use of a speaking valve can restore sense of smell and taste.
